Say you want to make your own valentine. You've got it all cut up in a big heart and the doilies and glitter applied liberally. We have many many books of love poetry including your Browning, your Rossetti, your Poe. Remember those greeting cards in the 70's or 80's that had a pastel rainbow in the background and a nice soothing poem on top? The poet was Helen Steiner Rice, folks, and she may have kept that segment of the greeting card market afloat single-handed.
