So you need tax forms. The Des Moines Public Library is not able to provide tax forms or publications, either State or Federal. But we do link on our web site to a number of places that offer the forms online. If you go to our Home Page and click on 'go' in the orange Tax Time box you'll be at just the right spot to get started!

Martin Luther King Jr. Day

Monday January 21st,in honor of Martin Luther King Jr. Day, all locations of the Des Moines Public Library will be closed. We will be open Sunday the 20th and return to our regular hours Tuesday January 22nd. See you then!

What's my PIN?

It's that little number you have to have to get into your library card account or to use our databases from home. Usually it's the last 4 digits of your phone number. Easy! If that doesn't work, give us a call at 283-4152 and press 3. You provide us with your library card number, we check out your PIN for you.

Internet Service at the Des Moines Public Libraries

Use the Internet free at any of our six locations! All you need is a Des Moines Public Library card and your PIN. We offer an hour per day of access, with the exception of the Central Library which is currently able to offer two hours. Plus you can print from the Internet for the low price of 10 cents per page - black and white at all buildings, color at some. Those of you with laptops can use wireless Internet at all six locations. So surf away!
